Artist Statement

Following pure inspiration, raw emotion, and seeking after the serendipity of creativity, I aim to transcend traditional and mainstream boundaries of what makes art ‘Art’. I’m not trying to express some radical social message and I’m not trying to follow along with whatever the ‘Art World’ thinks is important from season to season and year to year; I’m just an artist, trying to do what I love and to share my creations with people who appreciate it.

Whether expanding doodles and daydreams into bright, full-color paintings or trying to capture a strong emotion and pin it down on a canvas before it flits fleetingly away, I try to invest myself fully in the process as it happens and then to divest myself of it quickly so I don’t get caught in the trap of trying to make each piece perfect. The result is often surprising; a sort of visual stream of consciousness tracing out a map of my mind, my emotions, my talents and my skills as they grow and change and mutate through the simple act of living.
