Artist Statement

Indoor murals, serialized fiction, acrylic on canvas, interactive entertainment, hand-painted clothing, poetry, reverse painting, satire, comics, web design, metalworking, digital image manipulation, sculpture, oral storytelling, and more. The medium of expression is a tool of translation and my thoughts and emotions are the message. I have never been able to think or feel in sounds, words, colors, textures, shapes, weights, or other physical manifestations, yet neither have I found a way to express pure thought, pure feeling, directly to another person. And so it is translations, flawed representations, incomplete interpretations, and abstracted variations from my mind and heart that I share with you.

Speaking of incomplete, wretched creature is a compartmentalization itself; you only get the paintings, the sculpture, the media that fit within the lines of “artwork” and everything else is filtered from your view. My “artwork” thus becomes a window into my life, into my heart, into my mind, allowing you to get a glimpse of that which can be best expressed visibly, tangibly, physically before your eyes and one-of-a-kind in the world. Pain, heartache, confusion, loneliness, betrayal, guilt, love, passion, conviviality, generosity and joy are some of the things that come through most vividly via these media. You are encouraged to decide for yourself what each piece means to your own mind and within your own heart, completing the imperfect conduits they represent, connecting your pure thoughts and feelings with my own in one of the best ways I know how: Art.
